Performance Analysis

Thermaltake lists the trio of 120mm fans as having a maximum speed of 1,000 RPM and noise level of 22 dBA, which is fairly restrained as far as noise and airflow are concerned. We certainly believe the noise levels, as the case was exceptionally quiet with our graphics card easily drowning out any noise made by the fans.

Unfortunately this didn't do a lot for the thermals, with a CPU delta T of 56°C decidedly mid-table and bettered by cases such as the Phanteks Evolv X and Cooler Master MasterCase SL600M. The GPU delta T was marginally better and matched the Phanteks case, but there were better-performing options including the Cooler Master SL600M again and Thermaltake's own Level 20 XT, which managed up to 5°C lower than the A500 Aluminum Tempered Glass Edition's delta T of 52°C

Conclusion

With a price tag well over £200, you expect a case to shine in more than one area. Thermaltake gets off to a great start with an external design that's clean, high quality,  and we'd argue attractive too. However, this premium cladding sadly belies an interior design that is pretty yawn-worthy by today's standards. Not every case needs to reinvent the wheel, of course, and the interior here is at least easy to work with, but it simply lacks anything to entice users away from stiff competition, with the Evolv X being a particularly large threat to this case's success.

If you're completely sold on the unique aesthetics, there are no major sticking points to prevent us from staying your hand, but we'd definitely argue that your being overcharged. We absolutely encourage Thermaltake's exploration of more premium materials, but this particular chassis just doesn't quite end up justifying its price tag compared to the competition.
